NEWS FROM WASHOE -- We take the following from the Washoe papers of Nov. 6th:

-Sudden Death -- On Sunday morning last, M. Edward HOYT, formerly from Nevada, California, died at Silver City. The apparent cause of his death was inflammation caused by crushing his heel in the machinery of Holmes & Logan's mill at Mineral Rapids. Mr. H. was a middle aged man of estimable character.

-Homicide -- An affray occurred on Sunday afternoon, between 2 and 3 o'clock, at Bowers' mill, in Crown Point Ravine, about ? mile from Gold Hill, between a Mr. CHRISTY and a man named BALDWIN, which resulted in the death of the latter. It appears that there had been ill feeling between the 2, and BALDWIN once threatened to take CHRISTY's life. On meeting, as above mentioned, BALDWIN attempted to draw a derringer which he carried in the pocket of his overalls, but before he could extricate the weapon, CHRISTY stabbed him 4 times in different places -- injuring him so badly that he died in 20 minutes. CHRISTY is a blacksmith and BALDWIN was engineer of Bowers' mill.
