Hi,
I'm researching Bill Finger, the co-creator of Batman.
I'm hoping to find anyone in Bill's family--his father had almost a dozen siblings, so I know some first cousins are still alive out there somewhere! From the info below, it may look like I've found a lot; I included every detail I know because you never know what little detail will trigger a thought. However, I've found only one living relative, but he remembers nothing because he hadn't seen Bill since the 1930s. So I'm still at the starting line...
Here's are Bill's vital statistics:
- given name: Milton
- birth place: Denver
- birth date: 2/8/14
- grew up in the Bronx
- went to DeWitt Clinton High School, class of 1931 or 1932
- wife Portia, married probably sometime in the 1940s, died in Manhattan 1990
- son Frederic born 1948, died in Brooklyn 1992
- Bill died in Manhattan 1/18/74
Here's what I know about Bill's immediate family:
- Bill's grandfather: Morris (originally Moshe/Moses), born 1864, died in the Bronx 12/8/44
- Bill's grandmother: Goldie, born 1869, died in the Bronx 6/6/32
- Bill's father: Louis, born 12/12/1897 in Poland, immigrated 1907, was a tailor/cloakmaker, died in NYC, probably the Bronx, 5/12/69
- Bill's mother: Tessie, born 1892 or 1893 in either New York or Russia, died in the Bronx 3/27/61
- Bill's sister: Emily, born 1918 or 1919; last record I've found of her is 1930 census

6 --Edmond/Edmund, born 1910 *
7 --Manuel/Emanuel, born 1910 (twins, unless one adopted)
8 --Hyman, born ?; may have married either 1913 or 1932
9 --Nettie, born ?; may have married Harry Decider 1933
10 --Lottie, born ? *
11 --Lillie, born ?
Here's what little I know about Bill's cousins:
- Burton, son of Nathan, 77
- Gail, daughter of Manuel, born around 1935
- Paul, son of Samuel, born around 1937, sent to AZ because of asthma; had a younger brother
- Hyman had two sons
