Rachel, Some options you can consider are the NY library and The court records of Bronx County. You may have to persuade someone to go to these places for you if you do not live close to them. The Library has been known to look up 1 or 2 entries on the directory Microfiche for no charge. They do longer searches for a fee. The city directory is extensive from sometime in the early 1800's to 1934. After that it switches to a telephone directory, which is essentially the same thing with a phone number. This is the link of the library email reference page: http://www.nypl.org/research/eref/hssl/erefhssl.cfm Court records can usually be requested from the clerk's office for a fee. You will need to familiarize yourself with what is available. http://bronxcountyclerksoffice.com/en/info/index.htm The Bronx Historical Society is another source you may consider: http://www.bronxhistoricalsociety.org/archives/archivesfirst.html#listofcollections Hope This helps.
