Graves Registration Project Harrison County, Iowa found this qurey also E-mail: cswkresearcher@hotmail.com Thu May 31 03:16:22 2007 Name: cswkresearcher Subject: Mayflower descendants in Harrison County Surnames: TERRY, BARBER, HOAG, SMITH, COULTHARD Query: Looking for others who may have already done the research to support the Mayflower connection for the Terry, Barber, Hoag, Smith, and Coulthard families with a connection to Harrison County Iowa. (And providing a starting point for research for who might not be aware of the Mayflower connections). The key links in our chain are Esther Terry and her husband J. Maxson Barber who died in Harrison County in the mid-1800s (and have had descendants there for several generations). We believe that they are both "double" Mayflower descendants (both their mothers and fathers were descendants). Esther Terry and J. Maxson Barber are buried in Conyers Cemetery near Little Sioux. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaharris/cemetery/conyers/CY-BarberJosephM.jpg http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaharris/cemetery/conyers/CY-BarberEsther.jpg Their daughter Altana and her husband William Hoag are also buried there: http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaharris/cemetery/conyers/CY-HoagWmD.jpg http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaharris/cemetery/conyers/CY-HoagAltana.jpg Their descendants married into the Smith and Coulthard families associated primarily with Missouri Valley, Cincinnati Township, California Junction, Logan, Mondamin, etc. We are tracing the following seven links from Mayflower pilgrims to Terry, Barber, Hoag, Smith and Coulthard families.
