Here is all the info. I have on Joseph Thornton through Rootsweb. I know I am related to Horatio N. Thornton, but I want some info. on his dad, Joseph. Thanks.
Katie

If you look at census records for Thorntons in Chautauqua co. you see that Horatio Thornton in 1850 was age 42, so born abt. 1808. If he came to the county in 1813, he must have been a child still living with his father. On the 1820 census for Chau. co. the only Thornton listed is Joseph in the town of Pomfret who has two males under the age of 16 in his household. I can`t seem to find anything on this Joseph Thornton but you might want to post on the Chautauqua co board here & also at Rootsweb/Ancestry here: http://tinyurl.com/2x5f2r
