Trying to find information on the ancestry of Peter Decker, born abt 1833 in Prussia to Elisabeth Heiman and father not yet determined.
About 1846 Peter Decker marries Catharine Someone (born abt 1830 in Prussia), presumably near Collins, Erie Co NY.
Here is what we have from the 1850 & 1860 census:
1850 census Erie Co NY, Collins, HH#419: Peter Decker (25 farmer Germany), Catherine (23 Germany), Mary (3 NY) (completed 2 Aug 1850)
1860 census Erie Co NY, Boston PO, Concord, HH#68: Peter Decker (27 farmer Prussia), Catharine (28 Prussia), Maria (13 all children born NY), Susan (8), Ann (7), Emily (5), Julia (4), Catharine (1/12) (completed 16 Jun 1860)
Susan Decker marries blacksmith & wounded Civil War soldier Victor Rider in Concord, and they live in Dunkirk, where Victor is proprietor of the Grand Central Hotel at the corner of 4th & Lion
Emily (Emma) Decker marries dairy farmer Henry J Geiger & they live in Perrysburg, Cattaraugus Co NY
Julia Decker marries businessman John Promenschenkel & they live in Dunkirk
Catherine (Kate) Decker marries tinsmith Henry Graff & they live in Dunkirk
We do not know what happens to daughters Mary (Maria) and Ann, but would love to!
We are interested in learning the family name of Peter's wife Catherine, the name of Peter's father, and any other information which other researchers may have found. And are happy to share what we have in return!
