I would like to correct a couple of items: First Thomas C. Covell was born in Pittstown, New York.Second John Wallace Covell is the son of Thomas. None of this family was born in Gallatinville,Columbia Co., NY.
The Covell family came from Cape Cod after John's wife died the family moved to Rhode Island where John remarried.
They then moved to Connecticut for a couple of years, then moved to Pittstown,Albany/Rensselaer Co., New York. After John died in 1806, the family decided to move west sometime in 1810 to Chautauqua Co., New York.
