I have Nathaniel Cummings b. 6 Sep 1797 in Thetford VT. The US Census show him in Chautauqua County NY in 1840, 50 & 60. In 1840 he is listed with his wife Lucy. 1850 he lives with his brother Thayer and his wife has remarried (1845). In 1860 I find him in the Poor house. I think the reason was lunatic but can't read the last word. Evidently he died soon afterwards but I have been unable to find that information. His and Lucy's children were: Abel Paschal (my ggg grandfather), Marvel, Naomi, George, Alice, Charles. Am hoping to find someone out there that also has some of these people in their family...I hope!
