Hi Tanya - Yes! Always willing to do look-ups.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find a marriage record for Joseph & Adelaide/Adeline. There was nothing in Pontbriand's "Marriages 1830 to 1880", nor was there anything in the Drouin Collection, in the event they had married in Canada. It is possible they were married somewhere in Essex County.

I did find children baptized so even if they originally were married in a civil ceremony, that marriage would have been blessed/rehabilitated by a priest at some point as priests were pretty strict about baptizing the children without the parents having the church's sanction/blessing.

I first checked the 1850 USC and did not find any sign them, despite their having daughter Adeline @1848.

Then I went to the 1860 USC - Black Brook/PO Ausable Forks and found them indexed as MRCOT, but I could clearly see MERCOT. You may already have this, but I'll post it in case you don't, or if someone else can use it.
Joseph, 40, Canada
Adeline, 12, NY
Victorine, 8, NY
Angeline, 7, NY
Xzilda, 4, NY
Phebe Larabee, 20, NY

So we see that Adelaide was deceased, and that they had been married @1846/7 as you stated, unless there were any earlier children that didn't survive.

Here is what I find in Immaculate Conception of Keeseville for children born to Joseph Marcotte & Adelaide/Adeline Vautrin:

1. Angelique - born 6 Nov, baptized 6 Dec 1853, Godparents: Charles Vodru & Louise Jerva <Gervais>

2. Marcelline - born 21, baptized 25 Dec 1855, Godparents: Charles Vodro & Clarence Boyer <I believe that should be Florence, who was the wife of Charles Vautrin>. Marcelline is likely the Xzilda of age 4 in the 1860.

3. Joseph - born 26, baptized 29 Dec 1859, Godparents: Eusebe Votra & Zoe Jebo <Gibault - wife of Eusebe> He must have died in infancy.

Joseph Marcotte then married Henriette Robert on 12 Feb 1861, Immaculate Conception, witnesses: John Kierney & Mary Ryan

St. John the Baptist of Keeseville shows the following birth/baptisms for children of Joseph & Henriette:

1. Marie Emma - born 19, baptized 20 Dec 1861, Godparents: Edouard Robert & Rosalie Dupuis

2. Elizabeth Olympe - born 16, baptized 23 Apr 1864, Godparents: Augustin Michel Lebarbanchon & Elizabeth Brown
FYI: Lebarbanchon was a priest

3. Felix, born 8, baptized 14/15 May 1868, Godparents: Alfred Vannat & Sophie Robert
FYI: The entry has the 14/15 - maybe it wasn't totally legible to the transcriber

1870 USC - Negaunee (Marquette) MI - MARCUT
Joseph, 51, Canada
Harriet, 31, NY
Mary E., 8, NY
Elizabeth, 6, NY
Polly A., 4, NY
Felix, 2, NY
Henry, 3, MI
Then 8 others of varying names and birthplaces that were likely boarders. Is that age correct for Henry? Did they go to Michigan briefly between Polly and Felix and have him, then return?

So that's it from these references. Do you need parents of any/all of them? I can check Drouin if you'd like - just let me know.

Bev
