Are Francis/b.1764 and Joseph/b.1762 Seymour/Simar brothers? They are both listed living very near each other in the 1850 census of Plattsburgh. They may have come from St. Anne de Beaupre. I found many families named Simar living there. A younger Joseph/1813 is listed as the head of the family and with him are Francis/1764 and Mary/1786 (I assume his parents). Joseph/1813 is listed as a tailor and also in household is Joseph Gasso/1820 tailor.. Francis/1762 is listed in 1850 Plattsburgh census in the household of a Abore/Lebore family. Another Joseph Seymore/1805 is listed as head of a Plattsburgh in 1850. Maybe this is the son of Francis/1762. Joseph and his wife Louisa/1814 children: Joseph/1831, Frederic/1833, Lucy/1836(this child first one born in NY), Julia/1838, Lydia/1843 and Antoine/1844. Also listed are a set of twins, two months old, one named Mary, can't read name of other. This family is in the 1860 Brown County, town of Lawrence, post office De Pere, Wisconsin. Happy to hear from others interested in the above lines. Notify Administrator about this message?
