John is a descendant of the Smith/Wood family. Does anyone have his birth and family? John died in Whiteside Co., IL before 1845. Guessing some of his family went to IN with Samuel & Anna Murdock Brink Geer and others. They all ended in Sterling, Whiteside, IL; a town founded by Anna's son, Hezekiah Brink. Isaiah Brink came from Germany, was a casualty of the War of 1812. He and others were hanged by the British in 1814. Sarah's birth abt 1814 found recorded in loose papers in Smith/Wood Bible. Is she related to them other than being John Wood's wife? Some of the above is speculation and I really would like to know specifics. I always thought those loose papers had more to do with the Douglass family (Wood m Basset-brother & sister Bassett married Douglass bro & sis. Douglass prominent in Chazy. (Anna was a dau of Hezekiah Murdock of VT.)
