Seeking info on my husband's grt grandmother, born FEIGE BREIER b. abt 1888 in Lokot, Austria (this later or early was Russia). Feige Breier, 22, seamstress, Hebrew, immigrated on SS New Amsterdam, departing from Roterdam on July 2,1910. Last residence: Lokot Austria (Bryansk, Russia region). Name and address of nearest relative in country came from: father JAKOB BREIER, Lokot, Galacia. Final destination: cousin ABRAHAM (may be something else) BREIER, 467 Houston Drive, New York, New York. Height 4'11" Brown hair/blue eyes. Place of birth: Lokot Russia. In the US she went by Fannie and married Chaim "Meyer" Stepner and after living in NYC, Albany & Hudson NY they eventually settled in Norwich, CT.
Her youngest son states that all her family lived either in NYC or Hudson, NY after immigration.
I have been told that Fannie had a brother NACHMAN BREIER, spelling of first name may be different. Could he be the NATHAN BREIER b. Austria who immigrated in 1909 and lived in Hudson, NY with wife Yetta/Etta and children: Chune, Golde, Gussie, Zipre, Rose & Dorothy?
Also interested in KALMAN BREIER b. 1878 Galacia, immigrated 1904 and settled at Hudson NY by 1920.
