Anyone doing research on the ROOT family?
Erastus & Elizabeth (STOCKTON) > Lieut. William & Emily Jane (WHEELOCK) > Francis "Frank" Desnoyer & Alice May (HOTCHKISS)> Shirley (ROOT) PALMER.
After my great aunt died, stories and genealogy were sent to me. In with her things were 2 packets with genealogy lines, research & correspondence, pictures....etc., belonging to her friend Shirley (Root) Palmer, who died without issue.
Will share with others of same interest. Capt. Frank Root, father of Shirley, was a Captain and worked with ships in the Great Lakes. My intentions, since this is not my line, will be sending, in the near future, to a University for their archives. Delaware Co., NY has some wonderful resources to search and have attained!
My personal ties to this county is my own PRESTON line.
