Have noted several intermarriages of the CLEVELAND and SMITH families, who lived in both Claverack, Albany [now Columbia] Co., NY and Harpersfield/Kortright/Davenport, Delaware Co., NY.
Note in the descendants chart below that Abigail CLEVELAND m2 a Peter SMITH. Several individuals named Peter SCHMID/SMITH migrated from Claverack to the Harpersfield/Kortright/Davenport area. Note below that Elijah CLEVELAND and his wife, Alice LAWRENCE, lived in Hillsdale [the Nobletown] Albany [now Columbia] Co., NY before migrating to Schoharie Co., NY and subsequently on to Delaware Co., NY. The Town of Claverack originally extended from the Hudson River eastward all of the way to Hillsdale [see below] on the NY/MA state line.
Note also a Daniel CLEVELAND [1766-1810], who was listed in the 1800 Census for Kortright. He d. 10 Apr 1810, probably in Kortright. A Curtis CLEVELAND [1765-1784] was also listed in the 1800 Census for Kortright. Were Daniel and Curtis related? They could have been father and son. I am especially interested in knowing the names of the wife and children of Daniel.
An Ammy CLEVELAND [1765-1784] was also listed in the 1810 Census for Kortright, Delaware, NY.
