Thank you for answering my post about the possible connection between Samuel Elwell and Jabez Elwell.
From the info you provided, I see that I'm wrong about the connection. The Samuel Elwell I'm looking for was born between 1765 and 1775, but he didn't die until 1847. Before you provided me with Jabez's son Samuel's birth date, I thought perhaps this Samuel might have been Jabez's son or grandson. So far this Samuel Elwell doesn't fit in with any of the Elwell families I've checked. Again, thank you for your help, Bob
