I'm looking for descendents of Sarah Germond b. 1860 in Hyde Park, Dutchess Co. New York. Her parents were Sarah J. Vail b. abt. 1835 and Richard Germond b. 1837, both of Hyde Park. Sarah Germond's maternal grandfather was George P. Vail, the son of Daniel C. Vail b. 1756. I'm in hopes that Germond descendents might have historical records from the Vail family. Daniel's father was my 5th great grandfather Nehemiah Vail b. 1719 in Westchester Co. New York. I'm searching for Nehemiah's origins. Nehemiah married Mary Archer and had children as follows: Daniel, John, Abigail, Freelove, and Elihu. Daniel married Elizabeth Reed. The Alfred Vail Index Reference reports that George P. Vail had the family papers in the mid 1850's. If any of these names appear familiar to you, please contact me. I am a direct descendent of Nehemiah's son John.
