Chris,

You can send for Thomas Robson`s SS5 form which should have his parents names & his place of birth. The SS5 is the form filled out when applying for a Social Security account/card.
If you use this SSDI search you can generate a letter to the SS Admin requesting a copy of the form: http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/

You could also try the Dover Plains Library to see if they have an obit file or know in which newspaper a death notice for Thomas may have appeared & how to access that paper`s archives. http://dover.lib.ny.us/
