Dear May:
Is this the information you are looking for:
"On a dark November day, Sylvester Ploof and his family set sail from Thompson's Point in Charlotte only to be met by a severe Nor'easter sweeping across Lake Champlain.
Searching for safety, the Ploofs made their way to a Birch Island dock. The island's caretaker, Albert Williams, refused them port and untied their line. Unsecured, the Ploofs' boat smashed into the rocy shore; its contents were destroyed, its passengers were injured."
This is a long story. If it is what you are looking for - email me. cmmegwtr@695online.com
Celia
