Hi Adrienne,
Have you contacted the town clerk office, I know when I have needed help I asked for a search, if they charged it was not a lot. Also you can contact the Military for his records, as long as you have some records to know where he was born, you will be surprise had what you get, that would give you his parents names. You can check with a state site for the address or Washington D.C.
Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet on paying for some records, I know I did & was happy that I did.
