I have this family in my family database. Franklin J. RUPERT m. 23 Aug 1896 at Johnstown, Mary Elizabeth KRING (24 Oct 1859-4 Apr 1952) daugter of James Abram KRING and Catherine WARREN. Franklin J. died 30 Sep. 1938. Because Mary Elizabeth KRING was my cousin, I knew one of their children, Daisy Elizabeth RUPERT very well. Supposedly, Franklin J. RUPERT came from Canada, or at least that what Daisy said. She assumed that he was from the Loyalist RUPERTS who had left Johnstown during the Revolution and he later came back. However, I haven't found anything in Census records to substantiate that. Francis F. RUPERT ( 29 Nov 1798-13 Feb 1874) was the son of Francis R. RUPERT [sometimes RUPORT] and Elizabeth COUGHNET. He married Margaret DORN (6 Jun 1807-29 Mar 1892) and was the oldest of eleven children.
