A kind lady in New York got a copy of James (Sigismondo) Calandra's Obit for me. It is from the Morning-Herald, Johnstown and Gloversville, NY on March 20, 1952:
"James Calandra, 69, of 53 West Eighth Avenue, who operated a grocery store at 49 West Eighth Avenue since 1936, died last night at 11:30 at Littauer Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. Mr. Calandra was born in Melizzano, Italy, October 21, 1882, and came to this country in 1898 and settled in Vermont and came to Gloversville the same year. He was employed as a construction foreman with the State Highway Department before entering the grocery field. Mr. Calandra was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Holy Name Society. The survivors are his wife, Mary; two sons, Joseph C. and Albert J; and a daughter, Mary M. Calandra, of Gloversville; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held in the Kennedy Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Saturday morning at 9, followed by a requiem high mass at 9:30 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery."
