Hi Judy,

You could ask the library for a death certificate look up.

Onondaga County Public Library (OCPL) in Syracuse

New York State Vital Records Microfiche Indexes - Free Look Ups

The Onondaga County Public Library (OCPL)
447 S. Salina Street
Syracuse, NY 13202-2494

This covers the state of NY except for NYC and the boroughs.
Be sure to mention the death was in Fulton County.

Phone and email contact are here ...

If a death certificate were filed then you could contact the county clerk's office or the library will give you a certificate number which was filed with the state in Albany (at the state archives). Not all counties were in compliance for birth, marriage and death records until the early 1900s.

Good luck,

Kathleen
