I am seeking information or direct descendants of a George Lionel Duquette, my great grandfather. He was born Sept. 27, 1878 in Potsdam to John and Anna (Tobin) Duquette or Duquet who had come from Quebec. He played baseball for the St. Lawrence League in the early 1900's. In 1904 he transfered to the Patterson Intruders baseball team in Patterson, NJ where he met and married Edith Cox, having 2 sons. George and Edith divorced @ 1915 and George moved back to the St. Lawrence area where he remarried and had at least 1 more child. Supposedly he was a school pricipal later in life and was still living in 1940. The 1930 census shows a George Duquette of an appropriate age living in Clayton, NY with a wife Alice and children George, Sylvia, Margerie and Alice but I cannot confirm the relationship. Watertown and Potsdam has also been mentioned by family members as places where he settled. I do not know his death date or place. Any information,leads or, best of all, a direct descendant would be greatly appreciated.
