There is an Ella Dryden, age 2, on the 1860 census in Rodman, Jeff. Co. She is with George, 24, & Salina, 25, Dryden. Living next door to them is John Dryden, 48, b. England, Lydia, 44, Byron, 21, Alma, 15, Frank, 11 & Charles, 5. All but John were born in NY. George`s family, including Ella, is also on the 1880 census in Adams. You might want to search the old Jeff. Co. newspapers for your families at the NNYLN site here: http://news.nnyln.net/
