Hi again,

First off..i'm a little bit wondering if you are related somehow. My ex husband's family is from Taymouth Township and the name is MacDonald/McDonald. Interesting that. I think the Morse's are buried near the McDonald family in the cemetery as well.

I've found a few Morse's in my own family tree connected to the Wilder and Wood families from NY and canada. No luck there..however I did discover that section of the MOrse family is from the origional family that was origionally named Moss. I also found a ton of Morse's from Jefferson county that came to the state really early and were first settlers. That said...there was a Samuel and Silas from the town of Alexandria Jefferson County NY. Interestingly enough there was a Silas out in Michigan born in Alexandria NY.

Now back to your problem. I did find your folks in Lee Onieda, NY. I also found a historical refrence in a history that mentions that Silas's grandfather was Silas and lived in Western, Oneida, NY. In 1820 census there are two Silas' and one Samuel.

Im still looking but I thought I"d give you an update. Oh and the Genealogy in the Jefferson County history gives a pretty good write up of the early family. I can mail that to you if you like.

Anyhow...
