The 1910 census for Watertown shows Edward T. Shaw, age 44, b. NY, parents b. NY, whose occ. is railroad conductor. His wife is Mary E., age 40, b. OH., parents b. Ireland. Their children are Edgar, 14 & Catherine, 4, both b. NY. Also with the family is Thomas Callahan, age 74, b. Ireland, listed as father-in-law to Edward & Mary Ball, 77, b. Ireland, widowed, listed as Aunt. The address for this family is 111 S.Meadow St. in the 3rd ward of Watertown. They are also in Watertown in 1900 on Arsenal St. Then it is just Edward, b. April 1866, Mary, b. Sept. 1869, & Edgar, b. Aug. 1895.
In a search of http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html I found a notice of death for Thomas Callahan, age is unreadable, on May 17, 1918. Funeral from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Shaw, 111 South Meadow St. & from St. Patrick`s Church. You can search this site in a variety of ways for your names. I found the death notice by searching for "Edward Shaw" +Watertown.
The Watertown city clerk will have the death certificate for Thomas Callahan. It may show his parents names & possibly the name of his wife. If you know the death dates for Edward & his wife, Mary, you could order their records, also. http://ny-watertown.civicplus.com/index.asp?NID=253
The 1880 census shows one Edward Shaw of the right age in Jefferson Co. I`ll paste that below. It`s from: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp There is only one Mary Callahan b. Ohio within 2 yrs of 1870 whose father is Thomas on the 1880 index. She is in Cincinnati, OH. That record is below also.
