Thomas,
Thanks for your interest. I really don't have much information.
Axel Arvid Carlson b. 7/18/1886 -left Sweden June 30, 1905
Johan Ernfrid Carlson b. 7/3/1898 -arrived here Aug. 22, 1923
both were sons of Johan August Carlson and Anna Lena Magnidotter.

Axel Gottfrid Carlson b. 3/13/1889
Gustaf Albert b. 4/2/1892
They were the sons of Emma Carolina Carlson, sister to Johan August.
The boys would have been cousins.
I found an Axel Gottfrid on the 1920 census, living at Carroll, Chautaugua CO. He was 28 years old, his wife was listed as Bernice and a son Herold 1yr + 3/12. He was farm labor at a Dairy Farm. could not find him in the 1930 census. His age would have been right
There is a John Carlson listed in the 1930 census who would have been the right age. His wife was Edith, a daughter Linnea
In the 1926 directory there is a Gustaf A.as a Jamestown metal worker
I have letters from Elvira Carlson, (Mrs. Gustaf D, who evidently was a son of some of the first listed. They were written in 1952 and 1957. They lived at 198 Stowe St., Jamestown. One in 1955 from Mrs Eric Bjorklund at 198 Pershing Ave. Jamestown. She signed them as Elsa. Christmas cards from Laura and Alton Carlson in Salamanca, in 1954 and 55.
Of course the names could have been spelled in a variety of ways, Carlsson, Carlson, Karlsson etc. Usually when they arrived in America they used the Carlson.
Some names listed in the letter were
Helga
Arvid
Sandra
Eli
Esther
I don't know at this point how they relate. I have been trying to translate the letters as they are written in Swedish. I can do it - it just takes a lot of time, which I haven't had since I received them.
I doubt that this helps much in tracking them down.
Thanks again.
Marilyn
