I am trying to track down a link to an inquiry I read that was submitted to a Soule Genealogy Board in 1967. The inquirer was seeking information on a Soule woman who was said to be living in Albany, New York who married someone named Hamilton c. 1792. I didn't retrieve the entire query, but it also said something about a son, Richard. My Gr Gr Grandfather, Richard Washington Hamilton was born 24 Jul 1793. Census records indicate that he was born in New York. A military record that I believe is his says that he was born in Albany, NY. Also, his application for pension for his service in the War of 1812 states, "I am a native of the State of New York." Family Word-of-mouth family stories say that he left home when his widowed mother remarried because he couldn't "get along" with his step-father. I did find a Mary Hamilton listed on the 1800 Bethelem, Albany, NY Census, with 3 males to 10 years, 1 male 10 to 16, 1 female to 10 years, and 1 female 26 to 45. However, I was unable to find anything on Mary after that, and have no idea who she married. Additionally, Richard Washington Hamilton had a son, my Great Grandfather whom he named Andrew Soule Hamilton. Andrew Soule Hamilton was born 14 Jul 1854 in Titus, Texas. As a stretch, I am assuming that his son may have been given his mother's maiden name as a middle name as was the case with many of our other family members. If any of this sounds familiar, your help would be greatly appreciated. I have well documented family information up to this point which I will be happy to share.
