Luther Franklin of Mexico in Oneida County, NY

A will settlement states that Luther Franklin was of Mexico in Oneida County, New York on July 20th, 1811. I find him as L. Franklin on the 1810 census in Oneida county. I think he had left the state of New York by 1820 but I'm not certain. When I look at a map today I find Mexico in Oswego County, New York. Was there another Mexico in Oneida County in 1811? I would appreciate any other information regarding Luther Franklin of Oneida county, New York.
