I'm seeking information on this family to verify my probable link, Asa Hawley. I believe he is my ancestor who died in Elgin, Illinois. Asa's father, Jonathan and 4 of his sons were coopers, which fits my family information. Jonathan was born about 1797.
I have found this family on two censuses in Oneida County in New York-1850 & 1880 so far and I'm still looking for anything else I can find. The censuses state Jonathan's place of birth as Connecticut. I can't seem to find any family to connect him with, however.
Children of Jonathan & Lovina Hawley were Hiram J.-b. 1825, Chauncey B.-b.1825, Susan-b.1828, Welthy-b.1830, Mary Ette-b. 1840, Asa-b.1843 & Dennis-b. 1845.
Anybody familiar with this family?
