Got Thorntons?

I was wondering if anyone has come across any information regarding my Thornton ancestors who passed through Western, Oneida between 1820 and 1835. Specifically, it is believed the Ebenizer 'Job' Thornton most likely died in Oneida sometime before 1835. We believe that Eben and his wife Phoebe Halstead had a son named James sometime around 1791. James and his wife Alice (unknown) had five boys in Dutchess County, NY who came with their mother to Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio around 1828. The sons were Stephen Benjamin (S.B.), Israel, Reed, John and Henry.

I would love to know any details surrounding this family, particularly surround James, Eben's son, and the father of the Thornton boys who came to Ohio. I am fairly positive that this is the right chain as many Thorntons in Ohio had the name Halstead as a first or middle name. The fact that James never appears in documentation in Ohio makes me wonder if he died in NY before the rest of the family moved west. Any facts or clues surround Eben, James or any of this family would be greatly appreciated...
