I am posting info about BARBER families who lived in Oneida County and some branched out to Oswego County, please read my recent posts at Oneida County or on BARBER board.
I will post a new message today about same BARBER family- in a nutshell I am talking about Patience KEECH BARBER, I am not 100% sure who her husband was, everyone posts that he was Russell, but I need a source for that...
Patience KEECH BARBER eight known children so far:
Mary Emily BARBER no further info
Candace Jane BARBER married Benjamin Davis moved to ILLINOIS, several children
Elijah BARBER married Nancy Ann Powers, five known children, lived and died in Oneida County
Oliver BARBER, no further info, did he marry?, said to have lived at Amboy, Oswego County
Anstress Caroline BARBER married Benjamin Vaughn, lived at Constantia in Oswego County, six known children
Emily Susan BARBER married Joshua Hubbard Powers, eight known children, lived in Oneida County, Emily died between 1862 and 1870
Robinson K. Barber 1819-1856 appears not to have married? (I am willing to bet that his middle given name was KEECH, named after an uncle Robinson KEECH of Herkimer County)
Deborah Patience BARBER married Daniel Decker Whipple, five known children, Deborah died very young in 1867
In checking boards and genealogies everyone has recorded that Patience's maiden name was LEACH but it was not, it was KEECH or KEACH, welcome to my extended family, BARBER descendents!
I do have a file on these folks and on Patience KEECH Barber's siblings, her mother and some speculation about who her father was....
