Philip Warfield m. Sarah Davis 28 Apr 1801 in Montgomery Co., MD. Sarah was d/o John Davis & Ann Simpson both credited with Rev. War service. John is credited with assisting LaFayette from the field of battle after he was wounded. Ann assisterd Gen. Washington by providing information.

I am a descendant of Abel Davis b. in MD about 1765. I hope to discover a connection between Abel Davis and Abel Davis Warfield.
I suspect you will find that Ulysses S. Grant is related to Sarah Davis through Hannah Simpson d/o John Simpson and Rebecca Weir. I also descend from Joseph Weer/Weir/Ware who d. testate in Frederick Co., VA in 1824. Whether Joseph is related to Rebecca is uncertain.
Philip & Sarah Warfield moved to NY state where he d. Following his death Sarah moved to WI where some of her children lived. You have a great heritage well worth further research.
