I would also be interested in the McCREERY family of Ontario County. John McCREERY bought land from Sir James Pulteney Estate (land speculators) in 1811, and he sold land to his sons John McCREERY JR. and Alexander McCREERY in 1814. Son Daniel McCREERY purchased land from David UPTON, all in Ontario County, NY. (David Upton Descendant of JOHN UPTON b. at Charlemont July 2, 1783, moved to Victor, NY then Ontario County, NY and also lived Walworth TWP. before moving to Wheatland, Hillsdale County,MI in 1846 then Rollin MI. His youngest child was b. at Palmyra) John had several children, about this time however the Erie canal was being built. Wayne County, NY was created in 1823 from portions of Ontario and Cayuga counties. WALWORTH, taken from Ontario in 1829; And The Erie Canal extended through the S. tier of towns; and along its course are the most populous and thriving villages of the co. The direct branch of the N. Y. Central R. R. between Syracuse and Rochester extends, along the course of the canal, through Savannah, Galen, Lyons, Arcadia, Palmyra, and Macedon. A ship canal route and a R. R. route had been surveyed, connecting the Erie Canal and Central R. R. with Lake Ontario. So The McCREERY's were also living in Wayne County, NY and had 11 children, untold grandchildren, this Joseph McCreery/McCreary was born in NY on 07/01/1810 maybe be a grandson?
