Barnard Coyle came to New York aboard the Ship St. Cloud
31 August 1835.
He is enumerated in both the 1840 and 1850 Federal Census
Canandaigua, Ontario County, NY
I believe he had a wife with him when arriving in the USA but haven't found a record.
The 1850 Federal Census
lists Barnard, age 42, born Ireland; Ellen, age 22, born Ireland.
Children, Mary J., age 14, born NY; Charles, age 12, born NY; Barnard, age 10, born NY; Elizabeth, age 8, born NY; Margaret, age 7, born NY; Ellen, age 5, born NY; Patrick, age 8 months, born NY.
Obviously these children, other than maybe Patrick, could be the children of Barnard's current wife.
Are there birth records available in Ontario County that might cover the birth of these children? If so, could someone please direct me to where I might have the records checked.
