My Harrington's were in Onondaga County (listed in the 1810 Census)New York. Joseph's signature on a deed seemed to have Harrington written as Herenton or Herendon.
I have noticed that the first names in our family also occured in the Ontario Harrington/Herringtons. Ex: James, George, Edward, John.
Also our ancestor George bor 1809 in Onondaga lived for a time in Wolcott, Wayne Cty NY before moving to Allegan Cty in Michigan.
In your research have you looked into the Onondaga County Harringtons?
Is your Jonathan from the Jonathan Herenton family from Ct?
