I'm looking into old postings about my Codding ancestors who were in Bristol in the 1800-1849 time frame. My gggrandfather George Rollin Codding was born in Bristol in 1829 and came to California as a 49er. I think his father may have been William Thayer Codding. There are supposed to be Coddings still in Ontario County, so I'm hoping someone from this line can get me a little further up the family tree.
