Stephen, I would hope you've heard from someone by now regarding the Sheffields. My ggggrandmother was Julia Sheffield, dau. of Christopher Sheffield and Mary Murphy. There is lots of information about the family in the Rhode Island histories and records.
They were also in Saratoga County NY as well as Wayne and Ontario. Dorothy
