If you go to Google Maps (or probably any map program) and put in Old West Point Rd, Cornwall, NY you will see the location of the road west of current Route 9W. In years past, on its way south, it would then have merged with or followed partially what is currently Rte. 9W as it descended on the southern slope of Storm King Mountain wending its way down to West Point. Currently, this area is part of Black Rock Forest, a forest preserve managed by Harvard University if I'm not mistaken. It is sparsely settled. One would find a few older homes in here and the road is mostly dirt.
