Grandfather James W Swarthout was born Jul.27,1848 and his sister Emma Carolyn Swarthout was born Jun.23, 1846 in St. James or St Johns,Orleans Co.,New York. They later moved to Streator Ill. James was there in 1864 when he tried to enlist in the army. Emma was there in 1860 when she married a Barickman We do not know the names of the parents of James and Emma or if they also moved to Ill. Any information that would help to find the names of their parents would be greatly appreciated.
