I have a huge Brick wall!!! My ancestor was Martin Rector b. aug 1830 in supoposedly New haven. His death record states a David Rector and a Dorcas M. Olds as his parents.
I have found NOTHING!! On these parents and nothing on his whereabouts up until the civil War and the 1870 census where he is in Michigan. His pension papers show he worked on farms in New York for a Hines family.. Can someone help. this has been a wall for about 5 years now.
