Van Dien Family Bible

A friend recently purchased a Van Dien family Bible in an antiques store in Cold Spring. It belonged to John R. Van Dien, and has the date, March 14, 1855. Earliest entry: birth, Richard A. Van Dien, August 8, 1796. Marriage entry: John to Phoebe Ackerman, November 9, 1854. The last entry is the death record and obituary for John D. Mund Van Dien in 1942. There are many dates recorded throughout the 1800s and three obituaries are pasted in the Bible. When asked why she purchased it, my friend replied, "I was afraid it would end up on a collector's bookshelf and not with a family in search of its past." If you'd like more information, please contact me.
