I replied to your query on the Kings County message board, but the 1933-34 Polk's Directory of the Borough of Queens also has these names:

RUPPEL Irene r 133-34 147th, S. Ozone Park
RUPPEL John r 1874 Hart, Ridgewood

Irene was living in the household of Edward, a police officer, and his wife Barbara. John was a roomer at Hart St., but there are no other Ruppels listed at this address.
