Hi Stacey, thanks for posting your message. I'm not quite sure how long it took to get the death certificate, I guess it just seemed like forever but did receive it last month. My mother always said Edith was 2-2.5 years old when she died but the cerficate said she was 20 months old. What I was more concerned about was where she was buried. My mother passed on in April of this year and Evergreen Cemetery told me everyone who was in the family plot, and no Edith! This finally hit me about a month after my mothers passing and have been looking for her since then. Not coming up with any information, I sent for her death certificate. Luckily on the certificate it stated she was buried at Evergreen, I wish they would have known this!
Yes, this Kniep name is spelled incorrectly all the time! In my mothers papers I found a Ludwig Knipe who was buried at Weehawken Cemetery, NJ in 1855, had to be family being she had this record, maybe my ggggfather? Who knows, haven't gotten that far down the road yet. Working on my grandfather now and his family. Thanks for your post, Gail
