The "Jr" (Junior) suggests his father was also named Lloyd.
1930 census, Bloomington, McLean, IL, taken April 22nd:
head Lloyd A. SHANK 29, wife Laverra 24, son Harold W. 7, dau Louise L. 5 and son Lloyd 4.
The SSDI shows a Lloyd Shank, born 13 Jul 1900, died Jan. 1981, possibly in Bloomington. If you email the library there, http://www.bloomingtonlibrary.org/, they may be able to scan his obit to you.
