Lynn,

You may try Queens County, actually the Village or Town of Long Island City for the year you are looking for. There is a street in LIC called Dutch Kills. Since the Long Island Expressway on ramp now runs above this road I would assume it once was a major road. Or named after the area.

You may also want to call the Queens Library in Jamaica, Queens and ask for the long Island Room. Sorry I don't have the number.
