Need help, Queens 1860, Newton/ Newtown
Posted by: Linda Lemons Date: October 20, 1999 at 21:43:48

Trying to find location in Queens Co. 1860
census...

towns of NEWTON and NEWTOWN. Both are listed
in census under Queens - (Newtown not to be confused with town in outer Suffolk).

Does anyone know where these 2 towns are
located in Queens? Are they still there?
(they might be in Nassau Co. now)

Looking for an area that would have been
fairly rural and farm-like during the 1860
time frame - suitable for pigs & cows.

thanks,
Linda Lemons
