The 1921-22 Morris Directory of Jamaica, N.Y. has a listing in its Hollis section for William F. Buckner, mgr., h. Cherokee av. Cherokee av. became 196th St.

In the Street Guide & Directory of Householders, William F. Buckner is shown on the west or even-numbered side of the roadway, first residence south of Chippewa av. (now 89th Road). Apparently he and his neighbors were not using house numbers in 1921. This location probably became 89-44 196th St.

In the next published directory, the 1933-34 Polk's Directory of the Borough of Queens, the listing is:

-Buckner, Wm F (Augusta E) mgr h.89-44 196th Hollis
