Seeking some kind researcher living near
East Greenbush, Rensselaer Co., NY,
to make a list and/or take photos of the 3+ gravestones of Gitty [aka Geertruy] GOEWEY OSTRANDER, 1780-1862, [my 4 paternal great grand aunt], Charles OSTRANDER, her husband, and their son, David OSTRANDER. Ruth Ostrander Potter, my 5th cousin, just wrote that their gravestones had been found. Please read below.

Charles' wife was Gitty Goewey, d/o Barent & Rachel Ostrander Goewey, and sister of Ruth's Ruth's Maria Goewey Ostrander. Ruth never realized there once were Ostrander and Goewey houses "next door" out there before.
They also found an old Ostrander cemetery on the former Ostrander property (he used to own what was called the "Slaughterhouse" Tavern and left it to his son Barent/Barney Goewey.) Anyway Charles, Gitty (Geertrury) and son David OSTRANDER are buried there for sure and perhaps others in the woods. A developer is restoring the cemetery and putting a fence around it! Charles OSTRANDER is Ruth's 4th great grand uncle.
