I am interested in any/all information concerning the capsizing of a ferry boat traveling from NY to Elizabethtown, NJ on 10/25/1795. It sank opposite Ryers Ferry (NY or NJ side??) during a sudden gust of wind and eight persons lost their lives. I am especially interested in knowing if all the bodies were recovered and where they were interred. I have seen two contemporary stories in NJ newspapers, but I have never seen any NY newspaper stories on this tragedy.
